January 31st, 2008
Narrow Stairs is the confirmed title of Death Cab for Cutie’s new album scheduled to be released this May on Atlantic Records.
This will be the first LP since Plans in 2005, and the second release on the major label Atlantic.
Guitarist and producer Chris Walla also has some new solo material in the works. It’s Unsustainable is the working title of his side project and is tentatively scheduled for release this fall.

ah, death cab are sellouts. Something about airplanes was their last good album. Everything since has the stench of major label commercialism. Death to Death Cab! oh yeah, and the bassist is ugly!

svusall: You have no idea what you’re talking about. Death Cab’s material has only gotten better since their major lable step up. I’m not saying their old stuff was bad, but I definitely think they’ve matured as artists. just because somebody’s on a major label doesn’t automatically make them a sellout, or a bad musician, or anything… all it means is that they’re on a major label.. BIG DEAL! oh, and I don’t think the bassist’s visual appearance has anything to do with musical integrity.

i like death cab alot, and probably their biggest challenge going big is staying on top as the consumer likes to mill bands in the mainstream market so who knows
